چکیده
Infection by the hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a big threat to human health all over world. Many host factors could affect treatment response in HCV infection. One of these IL28B gene polymorphism. This research study investigated association (rs8099917) polymorphism with patients chronic infection receiving combination Sovaldi, Daklinza, and Ribavirin Egypt. The included 100 patients, divided into three groups based on outcomes: responders, relapsers, non-responders. Biochemical hematological analyses were performed, genotypes determined using PCR. genotyping was done real-time results showed high prevalence genotype 4 few 1. G allele associated higher risk developing relapse non-response, while TT significantly success. Viral load levels lower responders compared relapsers suggests that may be valuable predictor treated specified therapy. Further needed confirm fully understand findings.

IL28B rs12979860 gene polymorphism in Egyptian patients with chronic liver disease infected with HCV.
BACKGROUND Egypt has one of the highest prevalences of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection worldwide. Although the IL28B gene polymorphism has been shown to modify the course of chronic HCV infection, this has not been properly assessed in the Egyptian population. MATERIALS AND METHODS The IL28B rs12979860 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) was therefore examined in 256 HCV-infected Egyptian ...

Host genetic factors may predict the outcome and treatment response in hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. One of these factors is the single nucleotide polymorphisms of the interleukin 28B (IL28B) gene. We sought to evaluate the outcome of pegylated interferon and ribavirin therapy in association with IL-28B rs8099917 and rs12980275 in patients infected with HCV genotype 4. A total of 180 patie...

conclusions our findings indicate that patients with the homozygous cc genotype in the il28b gene had a significantly higher rate of response to treatment than those with the tt or ct genotypes. nor does the il28b rs12979860 polymorphism affect the viral load. results the genotype frequencies of rs12979860 polymorphism in group 1 were cc (28.9%), ct (37.8%) and tt (33.3%) and in group 2 were cc...

AIM The aim of this study was to characterize the genetic profile of patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection relative to polymorphisms rs12979860 and rs8099917 in gene IL28B and the association of those polymorphisms with the response to treatment with pegylated interferon and ribavirin, performed at a reference center in Brazilian Amazonia. METHODS A total of 75 individuals w...
